Suggest Medication For Severe Fibromyalgia Despite Treatment

I currently have a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia also other ankle knee and back problems. I just switched medication so I am now taking 150 15 mg Oxycodone Hydrochloride for break through pain. I am reading about Oxycontin for continual release pain. I suffer from pain 24/7 so badly that I am lucky to hold the job I have been blessed with. How should I ask my Dr. for a month s supply of Oxycontin so that I am able to manage my pain

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You can consider asking your doctor for an alternative or additional medication to see if this would help to relieve your discomfort.

Because of the potentially addictive effects of these types of medications , there are certain protocols that may be needed and it is possible that he or she may not be able to supply you with the months supply.
This can vary from one institution to the next, according to their rules/regulations but it would hurt to ask.

I hope this helps
