Suggest Medication For Sleeplessness While On Escitalopram
I am on escitalopram and aged 60 and I don t sleep very well once asleep I m fine but have trouble getting to sleep. can you suggest any solutions. I bought some red seal deep sleep with magnesium but one of the ingred has 5 htp did not know if that has an affect with the antidepresent thanks Trish

Hello,
People have a bias to get stuff rather than remove it. If the escitalopram is associated with changes in sleep then either lowering the dose or moving the timeing to the a.m. is often helpful and just better than throwing more medicines into the mix.
There are a considerable number of antidepressants that make people sleepy--mirtazepine and paroxetine for example.
