Hello.

Your symptoms are suggestive of either a stomach or a gall bladder disorder. Since you are already taking Nexpro RD and normaxin for the gastrointestinal symptoms without much relief, the next step would be to rule out any gastrointestinal infection.

Helicobacter pylori infection of the stomach may cause these symptoms. This can be ruled oit by a simple breath test or a biopsy taken after endoscopy.

Amoebiasis may also cause such symptoms and a course of antibiotics may be the solution.

Gall bladder stones may give rise to such symptoms especially if you are obese and used to eating high fat diet. Kindly get an ultrasound abdomen to rule out the same.

At the same time cardiac conditions also need to be ruled out especially since you have hypertension. An ECG and 2D Echocardiogram needs to be done. If your BP is within the normal range throughout the day and raises only during the upper abdomen symptoms you may continue to take the same anti hypertensives you are currently on.

Treament will be according to the cause. Kindly consult your physician who will advise you after examination and a few blood tests whether a Gastroenterology or Cardiology opinion is needed at this point or not.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr Geeta
