General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Allergic conjunctivitis treated with Antihistamines, Levocetrizine (non-sedating), once daily for 5 or 7 days. Bacterial conjunctivitis is commonly treated with antibacterial eye drops like Gentimycin eye drops or Cloramphenicol eye drops or Bactracin eye drops to be applied 2-3 drops twice or thrice daily.

Avoid touching or scratching the eye, avoid wearing contact lens during this time, avoid gong outdoors in pollution or sun light. You are recommended to visit an eye specialist & get physically examined before taking medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

If there is lot of itching and inflammation then you may use flurometholone for three times a day for two weeks only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
