Suggest Medication To Reduce Red Patches Around Eyelid Due To Threading

After having my eyebrows waxed, the skin became irritated due to waxing and swiping a dry cloth across the eyelid to remove the hair. I developed a scab a few days later. Now it has been about 3 weeks and I have developed an red itchy patch on and around the eyelid. It is in the same spot that was irritated but has also spread a little. What can I do?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of Allergic contact dermatitis OR Tinea. It seems unlikely for the irritation due to waxing to persist for so long.

Eyelid skin is delicate and is thus prone to Allergic dermatitis to Cosmetic products that you may be using OR Nail polish (develops while you fingers come in contact with eyelid skin) etc.

I would advice that you see a dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis and appropriate medication since it would be hard for me to give a confirmatory diagnosis without having a look at it.

regards
