General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Arachnoid cysts occur in one of the three layers of tissue that surround the brain and spinal cord. Most arachnoid cysts are stable and do not require treatment. Treatment, if necessary, involves draining the fluid through surgery or shunting. In this case you should consult a neurosurgeon.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
