Suggest Medications For Body Pain In Thyroid Patients
hi I have a question regarding my mum her age is 57 she is thyroid and height bp patient For thyroid she takes thyroix 50 and amplopres AT for bp , 8 yr around ago she had a surgery for overy removal but now she facing some leg pain join pain nd body pains which medicine is good for her she really need it
If she don't take the right doses, she will experience symptoms of hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism can make her joints swollen and this situation can produce joint pain.
I suggest to do a TSH test to see if your mother need doses adjustment and to understand if can be a relationship between your mother's actual symptoms and her thyroid situation.
If the TSH test will result normal, then I suggest to consult a local rheumatologist because it is necessary to check for the right cause of her joint and bone pain.
I don'recommend to use regularly a symptomatic treatment for the pain. A pain killer will eliminate the pain for the moment but will not resolve the problem.
For this reason it is very important to find the cause of the problem and only than your mother can have the right treatment.
Hope this is helpful.

Suggest Medications For Body Pain In Thyroid Patients
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Levothyroxine is hormone replacement therapy in circumstances of total thyroidectomy, like in your mother s case. If she don t take the right doses, she will experience symptoms of hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism can make her joints swollen and this situation can produce joint pain. I suggest to do a TSH test to see if your mother need doses adjustment and to understand if can be a relationship between your mother s actual symptoms and her thyroid situation. If the TSH test will result normal, then I suggest to consult a local rheumatologist because it is necessary to check for the right cause of her joint and bone pain. I don recommend to use regularly a symptomatic treatment for the pain. A pain killer will eliminate the pain for the moment but will not resolve the problem. For this reason it is very important to find the cause of the problem and only than your mother can have the right treatment. Hope this is helpful.
