Suggest Medications For Constipation

i am a 65 year old male, i have been having trouble with constipation, perhaps not going to the toilet for about 5 days, when i finally manage to go i then have vey bad diarrhea, i seem to empty my body completely and don't need to go to the toilet for another 5 or 6 days and the cycle just starts again, this has been happening for quite a few weeks now, any advice would be most welcome. pete

Hi, i do care for your concern.
your history suggest more of colon pathology(i.e ulcerative colitis).
I would recommend to consult a general surgeon and get investigation such as colonoscopy done to rule out any colon pathology, and get intervention done as soon as possible.
