Hi Sara..

You seem to have telogen effluvium. It is condition in which hair fall occurs in telogen stage of hair cycle. There may be some cause. You consult dermatologist. Stress, tension, anxiety, thyroid dysfunction, exercise, sleeplessness, fever like typhoid, malaria, viral diseasessurgery, trauma, drugs like methotraxate , internal diseases, anaemia, vitamin and minerals deficiencies..... etc might precipitate or exacerbate the disease. Excessive sun exposure may be resposible for the disease. Dandruff should be ruled out. If it is there, ketoconazole shampoo may be used to cleanse the scalp.

Investigations may be done to rule out internal diseases..as suggested above. If they are there, proper treatment may be taken.

I usually suggests treatment in my patients as follow...

-Tab.Biotin 10 mg twice a day may be taken for long time.
-Cap. vitamin E 400 once a day ..as you are taking.
-And iron, calcium, zinc..etc may be consdered in proper dose under guidance of dermatologist.
-Mild steroid lotion like beclomethasone may be applied on the scalp daily at night.
-Mild herbal shampoo may be done alternate day.
-Oil like almond oil application alternate days after shapooing for improvement of hair texture.

You may follow as above suggested treatment under observation of dermatologist. You may feel better after few months treatment. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
