I suffer from severe migraine headaches. My family physician wants me to see a neurologist. I have seen one in the past and was told that my headaches are probably caused by my arthritis of the cervical spine. At that time, the neurologist told me to treat it with moist heat to try to ease the pain and cold to try to prevent it. Unfortunately, neither of these have been working. I have a headache every day, it s just a matter of what degree it is, and don t know where to turn. Please help me!

Hi thanks for contacting HCM. If headache severe and precipitated by bright light and loud noises then it could be migraine headache..... Get your blood pressure measurement... Consult neurophysician for your condition... Avoid triggering factors for headache like...... -allergy -alcohol -loud noise -irregular sleep -hypoglyemia -irregular meal -bright light -smoking etc..... Muscle relaxation and yoga useful. Lavender oil topical application useful. While having severe headache rizatriptan like drug given .... Chronic sinusitis ruled out....if needed by paranasal sinus x ray. Take care. Dr.Parth
