Suggest Medications To Control Elevated Sugar Levels
Hello, i received a double lung transplant 3 months ago and had never had issues with diabetes. Now because of the medications such as prograf, imuran, and prednisone I have to check my sugar. About a week ago my meter would only say high so i do use insuline with the sliding scale and also long lasting insulin at night and day. I am getting thisty mostly but other than that no other symptoms. What should i do to get my sugars controlled. I dont eat sugars either, but i do use night feedings so i wake up with elevated sugars, should i change to another night feeding brand.
You are concerned about you elevated blood sugars. Your sugars are elevated from your medications most likely the prednisone. The best way to get control is to take insulin injections. Your long acting insulin may need to be adjusted to get better overall control. I recommend that you seek medical attention so you can get control of your diabetes quickly.
