Suggest Medicine For Headache Along With Twitching In Head And Neck

Hello there, I have had this weird twitching/chills in my head and neck and I cant seem to get it to go away. It s almost like I m having a seizure. The rest of my body seems fine though when it happens.I have had 5 total concussions with the last 2 happening in May and August of 2015 playing football. I am still having constant headaches and cant get them under control like I use to. I ve taken Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Pain Reliever, Nauproxen, and Gabapentin. None of these medications seem to work at all.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history about headache that comes and goes, concussions, twitching in head and neck.
History of playing football indicates a possibility of head injury that you might have forgotten.
This can cause sub-arachnoid hemorrhage as can occur with such games as Rugby and football. There is mild but constant leak of blood in the coverings of brain, causing headache, vomiting, nausea, periods of headache and concussions as you have mentioned.
This is why the medications might not be working.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult a Neurosurgeon as soon as possible.
MRI of the brain should help to get the correct diagnosis along with general examination to see for hypertension and so on.
Once the diagnosis is confirmed the treatment will be specific.
He will also look for the cause of itching in head and neck to treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
