Suggest Medicine For Severe Sinus Headache And Runny Nose

I ve had a severe sinus headache along with runny nose for almost 48 hours. I ve been taking Mucinex, Sudifed and Advil every 12 hours. It works for about 3 hours, then my head continues to ache terribly. I can only sleep when the meds are working, so I am very exhausted. I ve never experienced such pain in my head due to sinuses. Please let me know if ther s something else I can be taking to alleviate the pain. Thank you-Whitney

Hello,

Witney, the medications you are taking are useful and effective for sinusitis. You may also add citerizine or benadryl.

Also, frequent cleaning of the nose with saline water can help. If it doesn't get better in a week or two you may need antibiotics and corticosteroids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
