Hi I am Dhiman , four mounts back my Triglyceride level was 455 , my doctor advice to take Tonact TG 40 but now it is 596. My Blood presser on average 85-90 (Low) 130 ( High), using Inderal 20 regularly for that , Uric acid level 10.2. sgpt-40, sgot-55 Please advice which medicine I should take
Dear Mr Dhiman Thanks for writing to us. The best way to lower your triglyceride levels is life style modifications. This include optimal weight, daily exercise, cessation of smoking and alcohol. Too much avoidance of unsaturated fat and reliance on carbohydrates increases our triglyceride. So if your diet is predominantly cereals, please try to add proteins and unsaturated fats. Drug therapy is usually not indicated for levels less than 500 mg% and exact treatment can be decided only after having complete lipid profile. Do get your self checked for diabetes. sincerely Sukhvinder
