General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
You should use gynecologist prescribed abortion pill that contain misoprostol plus mifepristone after confirming intrauterine pregnancy by USG scan. It should be used under the supervision of gynecologist after getting expert opinion.
Mifepristone 600 mg should be followed by misoprostol 800 ug vaginally (should be put high in the vagina by gynecologist) after 48 hour.
Dose should be decide by gynecologist if no response will occur.
Home use should be avoided as it cause serious complication like excessive and prolonged bleeding, chance of failure, severe cramps, all these can not controlled at home.
Post abortion advice:
Follow up at 7th day if bleeding continuous. USG at 14th day to confirm incomplete abortion for safe practice.
Rest for 48 hour, analgesic, healthy diet with iron supplements, proper pelvic hygiene.
Hope this may help you
Thanks and regards
Dr. Sagar
