Suggest Methods To Control PPBS In Diabetic People

I am 43, male. Height 163cm and weight 64kg. Diabetic for the last 14 years. Take 2x30g Diamicron and 2x1000mg Glucophage. Till last month fasting sugar was 120 and PPBS was 180. Recetly fasting sugar is 140 and PPBS is 300. I walk daily 5km. Even with very less food PPBS goes to 300. Recent HBA1C is 8.44. How can I bring it under control without more medicines. What level is better for me? I feel shivering and extreme hunger once the level reaches 110. I feel comfortable when it is 140-160. Please advise.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If the changes are acute then it may be due to either changes in diet or activity.

You may want to consider a food and activity diary so that you could correlate these with blood sugar levels. This way you can identify which specific foods are causing the elevated readings.

If there are no specific changes that be found then the medication may need altering because it is important to be in control. Remember diabetes is a progressive condition.

The HbA1c goal is less than 7%, the fasting goal - 70 to 130 and a 2 hr pp- less than 180.

I hope this helps
