Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,

The person you have mentioned about definitely seems to be suffering from social phobia. It is suggested that a psychiatric consultation is sought and accordingly treatment initiated. Medicines like paroxetine work well in social phobia.

In addition, option of cognitive behavior therapy can be considered which will focus on changing the avoidant behaviors, learning relaxation and changing any maladaptive thoughts that is leading to the current symptoms.

I do hope that I was able to answer your query. Best wishes.
