I am 50 years old, female & have external hemorrhoids. I have been using Faktu ointment the past weeks & has expereinced a burning sensation in the anal area for about 5 hours after defecation. Is there Any natural medication fror hemorrhoids? Should I stop using Faktu?

Hi there.

Thanks for writing in.

A good diet the best treatment for hemorrhoids. A diet rich in high-fiber foods and low in processed foods is essential. Increasing fluid intake to six to eight 250ml glasses a day also is important.

Warm sitz baths are also helpful: Sit in about three inches of warm water for 15 minutes, several times a day, especially after a bowel movement. This helps reduce the swelling in the area and relaxes spasm of the sphincter muscle.

Include lot of bananas, fruits, salads, green leafy vegetables. Raisins soaked in water will also help in good bowel movements. The main aim is to prevent constipation, which is the main culprit for worsening of hemorrhoids.

Hope my answer was helpful to you.

Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
