Suggest Natural Remedies For Autism

Hi, I work with a 21 year old female with Autism. She only sleeps a few hours a night, if that. There are times like today when she has been awake for almost 48 hours. Her mother is against medication and is looking for something natural to help her sleep. She has tried Melatonin and it did not work. She makes self stimulating noises and runs back and forth throughout the apartment. Now, her upstairs neighbors are complaining about the noise level at 3:00am because she can t sleep. Any suggestions

Hello,

Autism cannot be treated, however, it can be managed with social support. Speech therapy, hearing aids and rehabilitation can help to normalize the person affected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
