Suggest Opinion In Taking Benazapril For BP

A week and 1/2 after my husband (70 yrs.) had an endarterectomy on his 80% blocked left carotid artery, he felt dizzy and his blood pressure was 82/64. He takes 20mg of Benazapril every am. Over the phone,his surgeon recommended he stop the Benazapril for the weekend and see how his pressure was on Monday. But by that evening his pressure was 141/78 and then this morning it was 155/78 so he took his Benazapril around 1 pm because it was still high. Should I call his surgeon (it's Saturday) or wait until Monday and should he still take his Benazapril?
