General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
The specialist is denying to do the surgery because smoking causes decrease in your lung compliance which may cause serious problem during anaesthesia. We usually recommend a 1 week smoke free period before surgery.
Hope I have answered all your queries. If you have any further questions I would be happy to help.
