Aloha, I am 55 yr old woman that has moderate to severe Osteoarthritis. I have had both hips replaced (2009), and have been draining my knees when the water (liquid) builds up so much I can t bend my legs (2007-2016). In addition I have severe neck/upper spinal cord damage from an injury caused by falling off a ladder [20 drop] onto cement; flat on my back! I have been geting injection of Cortisone and steroids every 2-3 months for the past year or so. Have seen a NeuroSurgeon about possible surgery to help eliminate the intense pain I feel as soon as those Epidurals wear off. The surgeon I saw told me that the procedure he would suggest doing would leave a scar on the side of my neck. That didn t bother me... but him telling me that he could not promise me the surgery would eliminate my pain DID bother me! Currently I am struggly right now to get out of bed in the morning due to severe pain in ALL my joints! My scripts are ineffective and the pain in debilitating. Just lost my job because I have not been physically able to get ready for work, even if I could I have not been able to drive for 2 days now. My head is pounding, my hands/fingers are all swollen, lower back feels like I have a tiny person stabbing me with needles, my neck is throbbing and despite my efforts I can t turn it from side to side without forcing it. My question is... What pain medication would you prescribe? ( I have no allergies, and unfortunately I also have a rather high tolerance for pain meds). I understand that your SUGGESTION (re: pain medication) is NOT a prescription, only your OPINION. I will take your opinion into my next consult with my Pain Management specialist. So far I am NOT happy with the combination I am ingesting. I believe it s time to change it up since my tolerance is working against me & those prescriptions. I am purposely NOT exposing the list of my curent pain meds so I can see what you would suggest for a person in my sitaution. Respectfully, DK Miles
