Hello,
Welcome to health care magic,
First thing i would like to know is who diagnosed it as mumps?
Because it is rare for a person to get mumps at this age , since it is common in children. It might have occurred due to some infection of unknown source but it is not the bothersome thing.
I would like to know your symptoms and if there is swelling or not and if it is so then on one side or both?
If it is mumps , then you don't have to worry and you should take medications like antibiotics (
augmentin duo),pain killers,anti-inflammatory and antihistamines and it will take generally 7-10 days for the swelling to subside.
Also,do not worry about its complications as it can be cured with appropriate medications.
You can take a normal diet with lots of fluids but just to avoid sour food like lemon etc.
You can also use a hexidine mouth wash , to help maintain
oral hygiene.
Consult your family physician or
ENT specialist for complete treatment.
Thanks and regards,
