Suggest Possible Medication For Ear Infection

hello doctor,

I have had an ear infection caused by the hearing aids i wear. I had two ear cleaning done in the last ten days. the right ear hurts a lot --especially when i put the drops in given by the doctor. Why is this happening? should i continue to take the drops?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have ear infection which is caused by hearing aids which could be due to accumulation of wax and infection in ear. It could be due to improper hygiene. Need not to worry I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated. I would suggest you to maintain proper hygiene.Avoid touching and pricking it with any sharp object. Put otogesic ear drops in ear. For infection in ear oral antibiotics as well as antibiotic ear drops and decongestant nasal sprays can help. You should get it checked and go for otoscopic examination as it is important. You can go for drainage of fluids as well.
