hi am 30 years old my brother, whom i live with, discovered incidently that he is chronic carrier of hepatitis B, i didn;t get the vaccine, what is the percentage that i'm infected too?? and if i get the vaccine soon, will this protect me 100%?? what should i do ?? and what precautions should i take ?? help me please.. thank tou
Your brother having hepatitis b carrier... So yes certain precautions has to be taken to prevent you from infection..
The best way is vaccination if you are not immunized. It is taken at 0 , 1 and 6 month three dose schedule... If after vaccination titre is above 10 then nearly 100% effective....
Meanwhile as this virus spread through secretions try to avoid contact with secretions of your brother. Avoid object sharing to your brother esp.like razor and tooth brush... The utensil of him should cleaned by bleach solution....
Also educate your brother about it...
