Suggest Precautions To Be Taken By A Heart Patient While Skiing

I am going skiing with a 72 year old man who is not in very good condition. He skis, plays a little tennis, but is about 50 pounds overweight. My question is if he were to have a stroke on the mountain, would it be best to have his feet pointing up the mountain, down the mountain or perpendicular to the slope?

hi
skiing for a 72 year old that too in good condition is not always better.
that too as you said overweight, skiing can be more hazardous, to give in shortness of breath, increased heart rate, at least due to the obesity factor
can decrease his effort tolerance.
perpendicular to the slope is better to maintain blood circulation,
you can go for a TREAD MILL TEST(TMT) before taking him for skiing, any probable risk can be ruled out.
all handy emergency medications should be carried with you..
all the best
take care
