Suggest Precautions To Be Taken For Face While Cutting Poison Ivy

We have poison ivy growing up a tower of our home and now shoots are growing along its runner. I have a product Ortho Poison Ivy and Tough Brush Killer to apply after I cut the vine at its base. I was warned to cover arms and legs and wear gloves and then put all clothes into the washer immediately. However the clerk was vague when I asked about my face, since she was so clear that these oils will be in the air when I cut the plant. Is it safe for me to cut it back?
