Suggest Reasons And Remedy For Occasional Acne On Forehead

Hi, I suffer from occasional acne on my forehead, although the rest of my face/skin is absolutely clear. I'm male with shortish hair and therefore use hair products frequently. Could there be something in my hair product which is causing me to have these spots and if so, could you recommend haircare brands which are more friendly? Thank you

Hello dear,

First of all please do not pay attention to any commercial haircare products, without consulting your Doctor.

Acne are caused due to a combination of 4 factors:
1. Increased production of sebum from sebaceous glands in the skin
2. Increase proliferation of cells & blockage of these glands
3. Inflammation.
4. Bacterial infection.

The treatment depends on the severity.
Usually we recommend a combination of treatment with topical retinoids at night and application of benzoyl peroxide gel on the pimples in the morning.
If the severity is more, antibiotics like Clindamycin or Doxycycline are recommended.

Also avoid oily foods, drink lots of water & clean your face with an oil free cleanser three times a day for reduction of pimples.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
