Suggest Remedies A White Stuff Build Up In The Ear Canal
My 7-yr-old has some hard white buildup in his ear that his doctor said does not look like ear wax. We were given ear wax drops to use for about a week and the buildup only looks worse. It is almost completly blocking his ear canal with only a tiny hole left in the middle so his hearing is adversly afftected. What could it be?

Hi,
Noted your history about your 7 year old son about having development of white matter in ear canal, ear wax dissolving drops but the build up increased and the Doctor says this is not wax.
Hence the possible causes are as follows:
Fungal growth wherein the white layered fungus goes on accumulating and can grow pretty fast.
Keratosis obliterance is a classical condition wherein the dead skin sheds in layers as if of onion peals.
Polyp development.
This can be diagnosed by consulting an ENT Surgeon for proper diagnosis, discuss these points as mentioned above,
Once diagnosed the treatment will depend upon the findings.
Removal of Keratosis needs general anaesthesia.
Fungus also needs manual removal.
Get these done and instil the advised drops for a long time till cured.
