Suggest Remedies For UTI

I HAVE BEEN PRESCRIBED INVOKANA AND PRANDEN FOR DIABETIS 2, MY DR IS AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST AT STANFORD HOSPITAL, MY LAST APPT WAS JANUARY 27th, 2016. MY A1c, AT THAT TIME WAS 7.1. IT IS NOW, 6.8. I HAD A UTI THIS WEEK, AND TOOK OXMICILLIAN 500 3x DAY, WITH AZO, I HAD THESE MEDS AT HOME, AND USED THEM, BECAUSE I COULD NOT GET IN TO SEE THE DR.. IT IS BETTER NOW. I HAVE AN APPT SECULED AT STANFORD FOR 7/27/2016, HOWEVER, I HAVE BEEN SICK AND HAVE AN EMERGENCY OUT OF STATE, AND REQUESTED MY MY APPOINTMENT BE RESCHEDULED, BUT WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE END OF JANUARY BEFORE I COULD BE SEEN. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Urinary tract infections are the commonest bacterial infection in older people and the risk increases with age. Other predisposing factors in old age include diabetes, urinary tract stones, steroid use, and chronic illness impairing immune system.
Advice
1.     Drink plenty of water to flush out bacteria
2.     Drink cranberry juice
3.     Do not hold your urine. Urinate when you feel
4.     Urinate after having sex to flush bacteria
5.     Syrup alkaline citrate 2 teaspoonful three times daily for 1 week
6.     Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice daily per oral for 7 days
7.     Investigations – routine examination of urine, culture & sensitivity of urine
