Suggest Remedies For A Sprained Left Knee

Good Morning A week ago I was on a small 2 ladder & it gave out and I must have sprained my left knee as it hurt immemdiately. When I first start to walk on it, it hurts to get going but then I can walk pretty well with just a little pain. I m taking advil & icing. Should a sprain take a few weeks to heal completely? Thank you in advance Dianne

Hi,

It is good that you are taking anti-inflammatory analgesic Advil and doing cold fomentation. Apply some analgesic ointment and crepe bandage while walking. Yes.... it takes a couple of weeks for the sprain to heal completely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
