Suggest Remedies For Acid Reflux With Burning Throat, Cough And Breathlessness
I have had a problem with acid reflux lately. It woke me up twice last night, once I was sitting in a chair and then several hours later. Their is burning in my throat and I start coughing and cant stop, almost like I cant catch my breath. I took 2 pepcids and it subsided after about 1/2 hour, however this morning and during the day, my throat has been hurting, It seems like I have to take a big breath also. Almost like its hard to take a breath at times.
If the reflux has been bothering you over the past few days or weeks then you may want to consider either using medications for at least a short while to suppress acid production along with lifestyle changes.
In terms of lifestyle changes: (1) using small frequent meals instead of large meals (2)weight loss of any excess weight (3)avoiding spicy/acidic/fatty or fried foods (4)avoiding onions, caffeine, tomatoes, mint etc
Medications such as nexium, prilosec, prevacid, aciphex may help as well. These suppress acid production in the stomach, may take a few days to feel an effect
I hope this helps
