my husband does manual labor, uses his hands. he cut his finger, and got it infected before he showed me, it was pus filled and discolored, and horribly swollen, took him to dr. for shot, antibiotics, clyndimycine, rocephin shot, doxicilline, sorry, I butchered the spelling. he was off work a week, had to go back, must use his hands nightly hard labor, picking up live chickens and putting them in cage. now fingernail about to fall off, no pus, no discoloration, but swollen and really sore. I make him soak it and he has 3 days of antibiotics left, now he missed last night work, he never misses, this really has to hurt. how can I get it to heal when he works with his hands in that nasty workplace. is he going to have to miss work until this heals completely. how can I help him, it is now swollen, sore, and fingernail just hanging on he won t even soak it now, or let me trim it and doctor it, do I keep it covered, I am getting worried, he might lose his job and his finger.
