Suggest Remedies For Anal Itching

Hi, This is really imbarrassing however my ass has been itching and hurting really bad for the past idk few months. I have gone to planed parenthood and a couple of drs have looked at it. One said that its hemmoroids and the other said she didn t think it was anything. I have been putting mostly destin baby cream in the anus itself cause that s where it hurts and itches. I use to put vasaline there and for a few nights I put hydrogen peroxide and Neosporin in there. I also wash it out at night with shampoo and the shampoo peroxide and Neosporin all hurt. Are these all bad ideas to wash it with shampoo and clean it out with peroxide. I think to myself if there is an infection in it it needs to be cleaned with peroxide.

Hello,

I understand your concern. First of all, I would make sure and exclude hemorrhoids, which sometimes are painless but can also manifest as pain and blood during defecation. Using prep H cream would normally relieve the pain and itching caused by hemorrhoids. A stool test for parasites would also help rule out parasites as a cause for itching.
In the mean time, I strongly discourage you from using peroxide and shampoo on the anal area, because doing so dries out the skin of the anus increasing and worsening the itching. Soaking a cotton swab in olive oil and leaving it on the anal area over night would give temporary relief from itching.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
