Hello,
If your wife started the oral contraception just recently, she would need additional protection for a couple of cycles. As such, she would need some emergency contraception if she needs to avoid pregnancy, if she is in her fertile period. You can either get her an emergency pill for temporary use or an IUD inserted which can also help in future prevention of pregnancy. Please contact your consultant for further help. If she uses the pill, she may see some withdrawal bleeding and a delayed natural period in the cycle. Hope this helps.
