Suggest Remedies For Burnt Rashes On The Arm

Friend spilled boiling water on arm receiving a second degree burn with boils and all. They popped and his arm has been healing but it s been almost two or three weeks and his arm is still red and I believe a rash is forming. It seems as if the area has been spreading around his arm with small red dots. He has been using triple anti bacterial ointment over the past few weeks to help with the healing

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Burn wounds may get infected, thus if the red area is increasing while the burn is healing an infection needs to be ruled out.
He needs to be seen by a doctor to check the would and if an infection is suspected he will need some oral antibiotics to have it under control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
