hi. 8 year old daughter had a canker sore on her bottom gums 4 days ago. It was between her cheek and lower gum line. Tonight 1nd -2rd tooth in left side it is swollen and red. I pressed it with a Qtip and green hard pus came out. 3rd tooth is still a baby tooth. She also is positive for influenza A. Do I just continue fever meds and wait till Monday when I can get her to her dentist?
As per your complain it seems that a sore over the bottom gums in the area between the cheek and lower gum line can be a Canker sore or a traumatic ulcer caused by injury with some hard foods or toothbrush..
However a pus draining swelling over the gum can be most probably a tooth abscess caused due to decayed tooth.. While deep infection in gum can clause a gumboil..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and an x-ray of the tooth has to be done..
In case of tooth abscess Root Canal Treatment of tooth or extraction can be done depending on condition of the tooth.. In case if there is gum boil deep scaling will resolve the symptoms.
Doing war saline gargle will also help..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
