Suggest Remedies For Damaged Ear Drum And Numbness In Jaws
I am female, 20 years old, 6ft tall and weigh 68kg. On sunday night (3 full nights ago) my ear drum burst and I was prescribed antibiotics that the course finished tomorrow. I have not seen any improvement since then and my whole jaw on the right side of my face has become numb. I cannot hear anything out of my ear.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of damaged ear drum and numbness in jaws which seems to be due to accumulation of pressure inside ear canal and leading to nerve dysfunction.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may examine with otoscope and can go for audiometric testing as well. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin ) along with anti inflammatory. Doctor may refer you to oral surgeon and neurologist for proper examination. Avoid touching or pricking it with any sharp object. Do mouth stretching exercises.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
