General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi! Thank you for your question. It is important to drink lots of water as this will help to flush your bladder. Citrasoda can help as it is a urinary alkalinizer. You can buy it over the counter as a powder you mix with water and drink. Do not squat when going to the loo as this prevents your muscles from completely relaxing and prevents you from passing all the urine in your bladder. If a little urine remains in the bladder you are at risk to develop an infection. Also wash with water after using the loo as this reduces the risk of bacteria being passed into the bladder from the stool. I hope these few tips help you. All the best.
