Suggest Remedies For Discomfort In The Shoulder And Arm Joint Post An Injury

I had an injury to my shoulder. It feels like something is stuck in my joint, my arm feels unstable and like it s falling. A physiatrist thinks its a labral tear which do not always show on an mri. I was told a cortisone injection into the glenohumeral joint could help and could be a diagnostic tool as well. If it is a labral tear, how would a joint injection give the doctor information?

Hello,

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI to rule out Lyon tendon involvement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
