Suggest Remedies For Dry Cough, Sore Throat And Mucus

It started with a dry cough then a sore throat. When I blow my nose it goes on and on, then Im coughing up clear mucus. I went to Urgent Care this week. They prescribed me Prednisone and Benzonate. I also been taking Mucinex and got an nasil mist spray. Its almost 2 weeks now and nothing is helping. I m miserble.

Hi,

As per your query you have symptoms of dry cough, sore throat and mucus which seems to be due to chest infection/ chronic upper respiratory tract infection.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you do warm saline gargles. You should visit the ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done along with throat swab test and blood tests and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Take proper course of antibiotics. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids. Apply mist humidifiers in the room.
