Suggest Remedies For Dry Cough With Thick And Yellow Nasal Discharge

I am a 57 year old woman. I moved from Arizona to midwest Iowa 1month ago. Shortly after I arrived, I got a really bad cold. hoarse voice, sore throat, runny nose (thick yellow mucous) and bad cough (slightly productive) that went a little into my chest. I was also fatigued. This lasted a couple of weeks. I started to feel better and then I started with a bad cough which continued to get worse. It is a dry cough. Sometimes I get coughing fits that are so bad that I almost vomit. this has been going on for about a week and 1/2. Today I bought a thermometer and realized that I have a slight fever (101). I am moderately fatigued but have been extremely busy over the last couple of months, with moving, training for and beginning a new job etc. I do blow my nose a several times a day and it is thick and yellow. Hello,

The cough with thick, yellow nasal discharge and fever indicates bacterial infection of lower respiratory tract. Follow certain basic measures to get well soon:
- Drink more liquids and maintain hydration
- Deep breathing exercises
- Fresh ozone consumption by walking in fresh air
- Prescription of antibiotics as macrolides (azithromycin) or penicillin as amoxycillin or else as per the choice of your family physician
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added epsom salt and peppermint oil
