Suggest Remedies For Dryness In Eye With Redness And Burning
after having been diagnosed with viral conjunctivitis in right eye and using hypermellose drops for 4 weeks, eye got better but ages after using drops it still gets dry at night. It feels dry in back corner and is crusty when I wake. Then it gets better during day. Doctor said it may take several weeks to go and most of initial symptoms, redness in eyelids, burning sensation, gritty feeling have more or less gone. It just feels dry and a bit sticky when I close it at night.

Hello,
The above symptoms could be due to associated meibomitis/blepharitis. Apart from the lubricating eye drops, try warm compresses and gentle lid scrubs with diluted baby shampoo. If symptoms are very severe at night then you can try putting lubricating eye ointment such as Lacrilube eye ointment, at bedtime.
