Suggest Remedies For Extreme Sharp Pain In Left Kneecap
I am having a very sharp pain on my left knee cap. It is very isolated to one spot and only hurts when I touch it or put weight on it. I noticed it when I was cleaning my floors on my hands and knees. It is so sharp that the second I feel it I have to get weight off of it. What do you think?
There is likely soft tissue damage to the area. Unlikely to be a fracture if there was no history of direct or severe trauma.
When you go to your knees, the pressure would be on the area which would worsen the pain.
The use of anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen or Cataflam or Naproxen would help along with avoiding any actions that may aggravate the area.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
