My son is 1year 8 days old, he is having fever started at around 9pm , the temperature was 101.4°. Gave him 1.4ml of Babygesic drops and temperature came down to 99°. At 1:50am again the temperature started raising with shivers. What should be the treatment.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The best way to treat fever is to treat the cause. The cause at times may only be found after medical investigations.Symptomatic treatment with anti-pyretic is good but the cause will have to be investigated.Possible causes may include: bacteria, viral infections or parasitic infections like malaria and other medical conditions. I will suggest you see the Doctor for investigation.Tests like a full blood count, ESR, blood culture/typhoid test, malaria test may help identify the cause.Other tests may be requested depending on the diagnostic orientation of the Doctor after evaluating other associated symptoms and signs. In the meantime, i will suggest you:
-Continue with Babygesic
-Give him enough fluids
-Use cold compresses on his forehead
-Reduce dresses on his body
Hope this will help
Best regards
