Suggest Remedies For Fever With Elevated To And Th Levels
Hi. my 12 years daughter had fever a day back i got her tested for widal all her values are normal except To and TH which are greater that normal value of less than 1:80 her temperature has subsided since. Dr has advised Cefixime DS 10ml daily. Pl advise

thank you for asking your concern and welcome to HCM. first of all widal can not detect typhoid fever if fever is one day old. typhoid bacteria enters into the blood at second week of its stay inside body so there should be atleast 8 day fever present to say as widal positive for typhoid. at the same time TO should be more equal or more than 1:160 an TH 1:320 to say it as significant. from all these please do not rely on widal test at all. and it is not specific for any disease.
is fever is with chills, is there any cold or cough, is there any painful urination, if yes then URI or UTI may be present. if you stay in malaria prone area please check for rapid malaria kit test or microscopy. please do urine microscopy as urinary infection in child should never miss. you can withhold cefixime if child is not sick. you can give paracetamol for fever and in the mean time please do urine test.
