Suggest Remedies For Hamstring Pain Radiating To Lower Back And Leg
Hi I m halving some serious pain on the top part on the back of my leg. I think it s my hamstring and the more I m on it the worse it gets. It spreads to my lower leg and lower back the more I m on it. Pain killers and my job requires lots of manual lifting and bending down. What is the pain and what can I do to help it. I ve had it going on 3 weeks now.
You can take Ibuprofen every 6 hours after food combined with Paracetamol 1-2 tablets every 6 hours. You can use local warm compresses to relax the muscle and help with pain. It is very likely it is related to the work you do or at least it is worsened by your work so it is important to see a doctor and take a few days off.
This does not mean you should do total rest as bed rest is found to make it worse, you will need to still do your daily activities but avoid weight lifting or back bending till you are better.
A visit with a physiotherapist would be helpful as well so you can have some exercises that help the muscles relax and strengthen and improve the pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
