Suggest Remedies For Headache And Numbness In The Hands
I ve been using Singular for about 1 year for asthma. I m now starting to get severe headaches and numbness in my hands and feet. Should I stop using it and if I do what will happen with my asthma? Is there something else I can take besides singular. I m using an inhaler twice a day and have a rescue inhaler, but I still have problems breathing sometimes. Mostly when it s humid. Help!!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It looks like you are having some side effects due to long term use of Singulair (montelukast). If you have the feeling of numbness, tremors or shaking, anxiety, mood changes, depression you should call your treating PCP without delay. The doses have to be monitored or some other medication as a substitute to Singulair can be given. Get clinically evaluated. You can continue the use of inhalers that you are using. In the meantime stay comfortable, avoid stress/tensions, sleep well. You can take the help of a respiratory therapist. Visit a Neurologist to screen out any developing neurological complications. Take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
