Suggest Remedies For Herniated Disc In L4 And L5 Area

I have a suspected herniated disc in the L4 n L5 area. Waiting on an mri to confirm but noticed swelling on both sides lumbar area just this evening. In pain but on a lot of medication already. This is new was wondering if it might indicate more damage

Hello dear
I understand your concern

Herniated disc produce swelling and nerve compression symptoms like pain and numbness.
To relieve pain take following advises:
Bed rest, tablet diclofenac + seritopeptidase and muscle relaxant like tizanidine. Take in appropriate does by consulting the spinal surgeon
Keep the pillow under the knee.
You can also apply analgesic ointment like volini.
Once pain goes off,
do back strengthening and stretching exercises as advised by a Physiotherapist.
You can follow this advises for 6-8 week
If symptoms persists then suergey is the final option.
