Suggest Remedies For High BP Of 126/91

Hi. My husband is 26 and very athletic, but he seems to have high blood pressure. The last time we took it it was 126/91. He has tried taking HTZ, but said it made him feel awful. He thinks this is just his normal, but I''m concerned. What should we do?

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that his systolic blood pressure values are within the normal ranges.

His diastolic blood pressure values are a little high and may be indicative of first stages of high blood pressure.

Coming to this point, I do not think that HTZ is necessary.

I would just recommend some lifestyle modifications:

- reduce salt and caffeine intake
- perform a lot of physical activity (walking, aerobics, recreational sports, etc.)
- try to loose some pounds of he is overweight.

Hope to have been helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
